C3759a Scalextric Legends Tyrrell 002 – Francois Cevert – Sale

These Limited Edition Tyrell 002 Scalextric cars are a must have for any Scalextric fan. In 1971 Francois Cevert became only the second Frenchman to win a Formula One World Championship Grand Prix (Maurice Trintignant won at Monaco in 1955 and 1958) and the result helped him take third place in the 1971 Driver’s Championship behind Stewart and Ronnie Peterson. The win would stand as his only victory. At Watkins Glen, USA, the final race of the 71 season, Stewart had already wrapped up his second world title. In the race, the Tyrrell twins held their customary one and two positions, only Denis Hulme’s McLaren seeming able to mount any kind of challenge. But then both Stewart and Hulme started to experience handling problems and Jackie waved Francois through into the lead. Despite a late challenge from a hard charging Jacky Ickx in the Ferrari, Cevert held on to the lead while Ickx’s car broke under the strain and claimed his first F1 championship win. Race: USA Grand Prix 1971 – Driver: Francois Cevert – Chassis 002, No9. Easy Change Pick-ups, High Detail, Magnatraction. Limited to only 5000 models in total.

  • Officially Licensed Scalextric Product.

There was a mistake in a question on last night’s Pointless and viewers weren’t impressed

Who doesn’t love Pointless? It’s the TV quiz show that asks contestants to find the most obscure answer to Richard Osman’s questions. And the categories can be quite bizarre, from naming celebrities on the telephone, to facts about random British cities. But one question on last night’s (21 Oct) show left viewers unimpressed, with many claiming the answer was incorrect. During a round titled: ‘Britain’s favourite flowers and flowering plants,’ eagle-eyed viewers noticed that one of the pictures which was named as Cosmos, was not in fact a cosmos flower.

@richardosman Cosmos??

What variety of cosmos was that supposed to be? Professional flower grower. Never seen them like that. #pointless[1][2]

Don’t think that was a Cosmos #pointless[4] ??
