Apple to Offer Special Chinese New Year Editions of Apple Watch …

Promotional copy that appeared briefly on Apple s website indicates shoppers in mainland China, Hong Kong1, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Singapore will have the chance to buy special limited edition versions of the Apple Watch Sport and Beats Solo2 headphones designed to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Apple appears to have outed the Watch promotion prematurely, so few details are available. The company did say that two new models will be added, though it s not clear whether that means two entirely new options or simply a single new colorway available in both 38mm and 42mm sizes.

Mashable notes the exclusive models (shown above) will feature yellow gold and silver aluminum color options along with dark red straps. The new Watches will be stocked until February 22. While Chinese New Year falls on February 8, the holiday is traditionally celebrated for a number of days following, and is considered a major shopping period.

Apple s Beats subsidiary has also created a special version3 of the Solo2 to in celebration of the Year of the Monkey. The new option, designed by artist James Jean, offers a white, silver, and gold color scheme, and a customized carrying case.
